Areas of Specialization: Dr. Tao’s research interests include investigating the processes and mechanisms of ecosystems degradation in response to global change; developing novel approaches and process-based models to analyze and simulate the dynamic responses of natural and agricultural ecosystems to global change; developing super-ensemble-based probabilistic approaches to assess the risk of water resources, agricultural production and ecosystems to global change and human activities at regional scale, as well as the adaptation options; identifying the climate change impacts threshold and the dangerous climate change level.
